Team 1
Our team is committed to solving the issue of hunger under the SDGs, and we are developing an app to improve the agricultural sector. The app will provide farmers with essential information such as planting days for optimum yield, climatic updates, and the best time to plant. With our app, farmers will have access to the relevant information they need to address various challenges they face on their farms.
Through The Mentorship from ITIS 4 Development Global and our participation in Technovation, we’ve gained valuable knowledge and skills that we never thought were possible. For instance, we got to experience firsthand how robots work and even controlled one ourselves. ITIS and Technovation has given us a chance to explore new interests, such as learning about computers, which we had no previous interest in. It has been an incredible experience.
My team and I have faced several challenges, including speaking up in class, but with the help of our mentor, we've come a long way. We're now more confident and capable of expressing our ideas effectively.
Thanks to ITIS and Technovation, we can confidently address crowds and speak up anywhere we go. Once again, we want to express our gratitude to all our mentors, Technovation, and everyone who has supported us throughout this journey. Thank you!
Team 2
The Savvy Girls team is a group of four young, ambitious girls who have come together to solve a problem they've identified in their community. They believe that with teamwork and resilience, they can make a positive impact in their community, and over time, with practice, skills, and opportunities, they can help solve even bigger problems in Nigeria and make a global impact.
Throughout our participation in this tech challenge, we have learned a lot, both as individuals and as a team. We've learned to be observant, identifying multiple problems in our society and working together to brainstorm ideas on how to solve them. We've learned to go the extra mile by conducting research, asking questions, and reading articles. We've also practiced good communication skills, patience, and mutual understanding to work together effectively. Furthermore, we have sought out the opinions and views of the general public by sending out various surveys to include them in our journey.
We've experienced some hurdles in our journey, but we overcame them by working extra hard together and with the assistance of our mentors, taking our journey one step at a time. We appreciate the opportunity given to us and are grateful for the support and motivation we've received. We're open to tackling more challenges and working on more projects diligently.
We are grateful for the whole team of amazing mentors who are making our journey fun and pushing us out of our comfort zones to harness the great potential we possess. We believe that with teamwork, perseverance, and continuous learning, we can make a significant impact on our community and beyond. Thank you for your support.
Team 3
We are team, noble techies, an ambitious team passionate about solving the issue of poor quality education. I am proud to express the tremendous impact that ITIS 4 DEV GLOBAL mentorship and Technovation's platform have had on our team.
Before ITIS 4 DEV GLOBAL, we lacked direction on how to tackle the problem we were passionate about solving. Thanks to the mentorship, we learned how to think effectively and find unique solutions to the challenges we faced. Additionally, we gained more insight about the development cycle and AI, which were previously unknown to us.
Technovation opened our eyes to the world's real pressing problems and the SDGs guiding techies to solve them. The platform allowed us to link, interact, and work with girls in tech with similar goals and visions. We also gained knowledge on how to create a business plan.
Our team faced challenges, including difficult choices and disagreements. However, through negotiation and staying true to our priorities, we overcame these challenges.
ITIS 4 DEV GLOBAL mentorship and Technovation's platform have brought out the best in us and shown us that girls can change the world. The Noble Techies are thrilled to continue working diligently towards our goals.
My name is Akanbi Rukayat Folashade, and my team member's name is Muhammad Hafsat. Our team, named "Team Good Health," is working on the topic of clean water and sanitation.
I am a member of ITIS4DEVGLOBAL MENTEES. Before joining ITIS, I had no prior knowledge of robotics, programming, coding, or brainstorming. However, after being introduced to the tutorials, I found that I was able to quickly develop a skillset in these areas.
I particularly enjoy brainstorming because it is a crucial component of the research process. Additionally, I discovered that I excel in coding, which I previously had limited knowledge of. This realization has given me the motivation to continue learning and growing in this area.
I have faced various challenges along the way, often unsure of where to begin. However, I am grateful to have had the support of my mentors, Miss Maryam, Miss Chidinma, and Uncle Chukwudi, who have helped me to overcome these obstacles. I am proud to have joined ITIS and grateful for the experience.
My team member, Hafsat, is also a member of ITIS4DEVGLOBAL. Before joining the program, she faced difficulties with programming and robotics. However, after becoming a member, she gained a strong knowledge of computer science and has even chosen a career path in the field. She is also passionate about educating young girls on computer skills and techniques.
Hafsat has encountered her fair share of challenges, particularly in problem-solving. Nonetheless, she has been able to overcome these obstacles thanks to the teachings of our mentors.
